Weekly Recap

Last week was kind of crazy for all the writing I did. First, I began my giveaway for a signed paperback of Demon's Daughter, which will continue until Monday August 10. All you have to do is comment here, telling me which kind of lore you prefer: demons or angels. I'm looking for answers from a purely mythological standpoint, so if you have a story or myth about what's your favorite or why, feel free to add it! The only think I love reading more than urban fantasy, steampunk, horror, or general fantasy, is mythology.

Last week also saw the release of my latest short story, Survivalism, in The Dead Walk: Volume 2. I had a lot of fun writing this story, about a man who escaped a psychiatric facility– in a straightjacket– to find he's not quite as prepared for the zombie apocalypse as he thought he would be. Another short story, The Maker of Monsters, was accepted by April Moon Books for their upcoming fall release, Spawn of the Ripper. More details about this story will be coming soon, and I think a lot of horror readers will enjoy it.

This week also featured an interview with a great author, Christina Ochs. I reviewed her latest novel, Rise of the Storm, and definitely think it's something that fantasy fans should check out, especially if you're a fan of Game of Thrones but don't like random character deaths.

Yup. This all happened last week. Combined with an exhausting work week (which still isn't over– I'm on day six today, with one damn day off), here's what I accomplished.

Continue Obsidian Sky
• Create and finalize Dark Sky map for reference
• Set up a giveaway

Here's what I'm aiming for this week:

Continue Obsidian Sky (complete if possible)
• Create and finalize Dark Sky map for reference
• Write, edit, and prepare Blood Moon 15

Obsidian Sky is going really well, though I have hit a speed bump and am not sure that I'll be able to complete it by the end of the month. Tomorrow is my only day off, and I'll be spending it writing and– hopefully– completing the latest Blood Moon story for the blog. I want to say that I'll have more time to get in my writing, but the Real Job and Real Life are kind of sucking the soul from me at the moment.

That being said, I have a lot more coming up this week. While I won't be reviewing them on Saturday, Mocha Memoirs has asked me to review two of their newest releases: Bound By Ink and Gem of Aticus. Both of them sound really good, and I'm never one to turn down a free book, especially when they're provided by a professional, wonderful publisher that helped begin my own career.

So that's what's been happening! Last week as a whirlwind in all kinds of ways, but I'm thankful for all the great things coming my way in terms of writing. I want to say that once Obsidian Sky is done its first draft and initial edits that I'll be taking a breather... but that's not going to happen. With the way things are going, I'm not sure I want it to.

Hope everyone has a great week! Cheers!

Amy
